Spelling lessons

Spelling lessons exclusively look at mastering the spelling of words for your students.

Vocabulary - choose word

In 'Choose word' vocabulary lessons, students must select the correct word to complete a sentence. They can use their knowledge of word meanings, as well as context cues and elimination to get the correct answer.

Vocabulary - choose sentence

The 'Choose sentence' vocabulary lessons ask students to select which of two sentences uses the given word correctly.

Pronunciation

Our pronunciation lessons allow students to improve their fluency of the spoken word.

They can hear the word broken down into syllables and individual phonemes. Then, learners click 'say it' to have a go at saying the word correctly aloud. They get immediate feedback on how well they have done, and then try again to perfect their pronunciation.

Write sentence

These lessons allow students to flex their new-found vocabulary by coming up with a full sentence that uses a given word correctly.

Mixed lessons

The mixed lessons are exactly that - a mix of spelling, pronunciation, the two vocabulary lessons, and writing sentences.

When you opt to have one of your own word lists turned into a mixed lesson, the system automatically selects which words will be used for each question type. You can then edit this as required.
