Adding classes

Make classes with lessons tailored to your classes, groups or individual students, and invite students to join.

Written by Jane

The 'My Classes' tab helps keep all your resources in order. If you only teach one class of students, you can use this to arrange your lessons into groups for different levels.

You need to make a class before you can invite students to join it.

First, go to the My Classes tab and click 'Add Class'

This box will pop up:

The title and description are for you, to help you find the right class among others, or to remind you of a group's needs or level.

You can opt to make sure that students do all lessons in the order you set them, or switch this off if you want them to choose their own order.

If you want to give them the opportunity to redo a lesson, you can turn the 'Allow lesson resets' switch on. Switch this off if you want to see how they do on their first try.

Open classes

When the 'Open class' switch is on, it means that when you send a code and link to students, they don't need to sign up before completing the exercises. If you toggle this off, students will need to complete a simple signing in procedure before they can do the lessons.

Preview means practice

Every lesson comes with a preview, in which students are introduced to the words they will be encountering in the questions to follow. In the preview, each word can be explored in terms of spelling, pronunciation, and meaning by selecting the magnifying glass symbol:

You can allow students to skip this preview before they do the test if they feel confident, or you can turn on the 'Prevent skipping preview' toggle to make the practice mandatory.

Invite students to join

Once you have created the class, you can invite students to join.

Select the class in your My Classes tab, and then click the 'Share with learners' button.

This will bring up the class enrolment code, which you can copy and send to the students you want to join.
